Two up on our 990 Stelvio Pass

We shipped my 07 990 to Europe in the fall of 2011. Here is a short video Susan shot riding in the Alps.

The 990 is really a perfect touring bike.

Been there, unfotunatly not with my 990... 4 wheeled... forgot something there and need to go back.

What i find amazing is people doing that road in a bicycle! That is one phisical challenge that i admire!

i would have an heart attack...

A great place to ride indeed, I would also recommend the Davos (CH) to Austria mountain pass which is also breathtakingly beautiful...

Funny you should mention bicycles. On our way up the pass (the other side is a much tighter less refined road) there was a very large bicycle race (over 500 bicycles) going on.

It was challenging riding weaving through the cyclists, the crews and the photographers and the most harrowing , technical riding of our whole trip. The KTM was seldom above 15 KMH the whole way up, the hairpins were a balancing act of clutch/throttle/weave among the falling bicyclists and there was downhill car traffic.

I didn't ask my wife to film any of it as she was helping me in the corners by being a second set of eyes looking through the corner as I weaved through the people in the apex.

When we got to the top and had a break we realized how lucky we had been with the bicycles because the next day was the "Antique Tractor Climb" over the pass.

We met some Germans who had stayed at the ski lodge overnight and had already made three trips up and down the side of the pass we are riding in the video by 2 pm.
