1971 Yamaha HS1 Find of the Day

Found this in the local classifieds. The seller was asking $100 and so I didn't even dicker with him. The only part I noticed that was missing was the carb slide and cap on one carb. Hope that doesn't mean the carb is a rotten mess inside as it's pretty obvious the bike has sat outside some. Must not've been too much, though, as the paint isn't even faded under the grime. It kicks over so that's always a good start. Tank is a little dinged up, but is spotless inside. No title either, but it's pretty easy to title an old bike here in N. Dakota with just a bill of sale.

Well there won't be any 'progress' reports anytime soon as I'm currently restoring a '77 RD400, and also have a '66 YL1 next in line, but thought y'all might enjoy seeing my nice little score.

You can see the key is broken off, but it still turns.

And the answer to that age-old question: will a small motorcycle fit in the back of a Subaru WRX?

Even for these little tiddlers? Do they have throttle cables and all that stuff too?

These carbs are VM12 Mikunis -- it doesn't look like Sudco supports the itty-bitty carbs at all, unless I just didn't see it.
