Sam started 12th according to yesterday's results and is now behind Jordi who started first (and he remains in front of the pack).
Verhoeven seems to be falling back, he started 2nd and he is now 6th (on the pack)
Farres according to the starting positions left 8th and he is now third on the pack

SAM is chasing Viladoms.
Quite dificult to say but I believe he is 2,5 milles from him and aproaching.

Helder is now 5th after starting 22.

How I see it is that there's about 4'30'' physically between them.

Its tough to say - I see that Sam is about 1 1/2 miles behind on the course, so he will see his Jordi's dust, but will be still navigating, can't afford not to with a 20 min penalty for a missed way point - I expect Sam and Helder to be 1 and 2, but with Viladoms and Botturi leading off this morning that was hardly a brave call

This thread needs more photos!!!

A stunning picture of #57 Ollie Lloyd (GBR) from yesterday:

Ollie is one of the youngest competitors, and you may recall his rallye debut at the Tuareg Rallye earlier this year (he was one of my featured riders)... since then he has had an amazing season - including nailing the rally class of the UK based All-Terrain Rally Challenge - and you can follow his blog pages on the OWL Racing website: http://owlracing.co.uk/the-merzouga-rally-has-started/

I get the feeling this guy is going to make some serious inroads into the rally world in the seasons to come, and I'm sure it won't be long before we see him at the Dakar...

Cool video.
They are really making an effort with coverage and promotion. I especially like the 360 degrees images.
