I'm leaving for a 4k ride in two weeks and if I had my pick, it would be Social Distortion "Ball and Chain"

Good for you. I'm mostly sick of old music also. Sure I listen of some once in a while, but in 30 sec I'm ready to move on. It is fun in advertisements and on TV shows.

I do like old style Rock and Roll, but done by modern bands. I have an email list where I send more fresh music to friends and family. Older people who don't know where to find new music and kids who never heard music before 2000.

When I ask someone "Watcha lisnen too" If they answer AD-DC I just wnat to whack them on the head. It's 2013 and there is a whole world of music available.

Garbage is back together as well as The Mavericks and with new music. B-52 are still out there with new music. I just found a newer song by DION, who knew. Lots of old acts pounding out new music. Fantastic revival of Surf Guitar, Boogey Woogey and hard Rockabilly, mostly offshore.

You might like these guys. Porcelyn Black may be what R&R looks like but this is what R&R sounds like

Here is a thread on ADV. some good tunes show up here.

You like rock but you want new? Check out Halestorm. Hot singer, rocking guitar, and sings like a metal angel. Speeding ticket time! Mid afternoon, post lunch sleepy...they'll wake your ass right up.

Thanks, but I don't want to take this thread off track. The thread in the basement is for that.

A couple people mentioned "Call me the Breeze"

JJ Cale the author of said song. Still writing new stuff. This is a THEME song.

Theme songs should just pop into your mind. Badly sing a bit of it and keep on going.

Rush - "Ghostrider", lyrics by Neil Peart of course who is a very serious rider (and writer). It's about motorcycling for a couple of years after losing his daughter and then his wife. The book by the same name is pretty damn good too.
