QQuestion for the Big Bear guys

I was looking for a place to stage a pick up and bike trailer off of HWY 38 near Mountain Home. Do you guys know if one is able to park a truck and trailer in the parking lot off of 38? If so, do I need a Forest Service pass? Thanks a bunch........John

Thurman flats picnic area requires the adventure pass. There is also parking lot at a "vista point" just before the turnoff to Thomas Hunting grounds. I don't think that there is a fee for parking there. There is room to park a truck and small trailer on the road going up to Thomas Hunting grounds and no fee.
