2013 Baja wheel size?

I took delivery of a 2013 990 Baja. It is great but I have a second set of wheels 19/17 combo and it seems there is no option to change tire size on this speedo?
Can the dealer do this? Anybody have a solution for this. The speedo is way off if I run this way.

You can do it. It is 'sort of' locked out by KTM so you won't change it by accident. The stock speedo is 10% fast, reads 60mph at 55mph, the stock ODO is off by 4%, reads 10.4 mi at 10mi. Other numbers are here for other wheel sizes. Love the 19/17 on pavement.

Wicked Wheel size, m m

Thanks,

The dealer said it can not be changed. I will try to do what was suggested here and post if it works.
What makes no sense is that this has been locked out. Many riders have different wheels sets.
The next problem is why they did not put enough brake cable to allow a riser.
Good grief

Running a riser and high bars on my 2011, which is pretty much identical in that area. No cable change.

It works -

I removed the brown/black wire from the 32 pin connector that goes into the back of the instrument/speedometer cluster on my 2012 990 Adventure. I was then able to change my wheel size by -

1- press MODE to go to TRIP 1
2- Hold the MODE key for around 10 sec
3- It will show actual wheel size. Use the MODE key to increase the wheel size and the SET key to decrease it
4- Hold the MODE and SET key to exit

The values for the different wheels sizes are -

21" - 2205 mm
19" - 2040 mm
17" - 1882 mm

I set mine to 2040MM for my 19" front wheel and the miles per hour are spot on when compared to a GPS.

Wheel size

This works and is no big deal to change. It is a little trick to open up the pin connector to remove....but once that is done you can change wheel size just as described.

Makes you wonder why they block this option?..

Faster than GPS?

I noticed too that the speedo would register about 5km/h faster than my Zumo even though the wheel size was correct... 2013 Baja and had a 21" on and stock speedo settings. Might have to tweak mine?

Cheers and thanks for this trick to change it if/when I put a set of streets on the beast.

I suspect it is to make odometer fraud more difficult.

Wheel Size!

When I had my 06 950 Adv S I noticed the speedo was quite optimistic so I switch the wheel size to 19 inch and the speedo was spot on for 21 inch.

You can have either a (more) accurate speedo or a more accurate odo, right ? But not both.
