I emailed about the R5 and now the ad is pulled....so I'm sure the bike sold and they didn't pull the ad until more inquiries started showing up.

Probably best, I'm supposed to be looking for a dirtbike

Many of the inmates I've been bugging the shit out of about this have convinced me that something like a DR 350 would be the right choice.

Bob: if you can, test ride an LC4 before you buy. Some people find their hands and feet go numb from the vibration.

I'll make you a 2 for 1 deal on the R90 and the 610. You'll be all set

Agreed, I have ridden a 620 and did not really like the vibrations. They were not horrible but they were there.

A R90,610 combo sounds like a deal.

I spent some time reading about the LC4 this morning. It looks like a nice unit. Some people are shopping for a bike based on performance. I'm looking for one that would be easy to pick up after repeatedly dropping it.
Maybe I can take a look at yours when the roads dry up.
The 1800 leaves for Joplin, MO in a few days so I'm definitely a fool with a little money.

Fwiw, I still regard the 96 620 I had as the worst bike I ever owned. I spent a month on a 640 last year and it was slightly better, but still not good. For cheap offroad, an air cooled xr or dr is hard to beat.

+1 with Ned on this. It's really hard to beat an older XR. They don't cost much to buy. They sell for what you bought it for. They are solid off-road bikes. And they are simple.

I bought a new 2003 300 EXC, and a couple of years ago I picked up a used '03 250 EXC. Aside from a few early 2T KTM's those are the two newer ones I've had.

2004 KTM 200 SX - $2093 (Elite Motorsports)

http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/mcd/2819089190.html

I've been watching this one too, and haven't been able to nail down whether the SX has the Kokusan 2k3 with lighting coil or not. Anyone ?
I might give Elite a call and see what's what. Just that the 200SX is not the same motor as the 200 EXC/MXC, it's a bored/stroked 125SX and very strong.

Very clean, well maintained and runs great! This bike would work well at the track and or trails!
Easy power and lightweight, oversized aftermarket tank, handguards, and FMF exhaust.

I've ridden a few of the different 300's and aside from some differences in the frame and suspension (that were imperceptible at a trail pace), they felt very similar.
I doubt MP noticed any substantial differences either at a trail riding pace, except between a KTM 300 and a YZF 250 or TT-R250 - which would indeed be very different.
