1976 Honda CB550F Super Sport - $300 (Parker)

Fixed

We can only hope it was a typo!

If it was. He typed it twice. Once at the start and again near the end.

I got $2800 out of a 76 CB550 in almost perfect condition two years ago without any bargaining so yeah, this one seems a bit high.

Haul and camp?

1976 Rainbo panel van $1800 SF.

Ok it's not a Sprinter. Which is a true statement in more ways than one.

But it is a way to haul and camp out of one unit.

Maybe I am uniformed then? I was aware of the early 70's/late 60s (epc. sand cast) having significant value, but didn't know that the mid 70s held a special place in collectors hearts. $2800 for a 35 year old bike is pretty special IMHO. Of course I have never been a "Honda guy" so don't know.

The sand cast 750 K0 was a short run (late '69/early '70) and are very collectible.

The only Super Sport that commands good money is the CB400F, with the curvaceous headers like that 550 but better shaped gas tank.

Like this one in the flea market - he's asking $4500, non-restored all original with 12,000 miles

Oooh that is purty! I'm pretty sure that is the first road bike I ever rode. When we were about 12 or so my buddy had a 400 four. Nice thing about growing up very rural is that you could cruise the back roads quite young. Of course we got a stern lecture about driving to drivers education classes at school when we were 15

Those are pretty and historic, but if I was going to spend that much change I would go for a Ducati of the same era:

my old neighbor has 3 of them sitting in his backyard. Two twins and one single. Last time I checked he would not sell.

I'd put my Ducati in the living room but I'm afraid that stupid cat would pee on it

I scanned through about 200 pics of Ducatis from the 1970s last night on my Android phone and showed them to my wife. She agrees they are neat looking, but still says I don't need one right now. Something about a new couch. And Mark, if you had one running beside your bed it would heal up that finger rat now.
