1967 BSA 441 Victor 950 mi. - $2750 (Louisville)

http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/4099768621.html

I bought in 2004 from original owner who stored it but only rode it on the 4th of July.
Amazingly enough I never thought I'd be selling it almost ten years later without having ridden it either.
It just never got to the top of my bike list. I've owned over 30 motorcycles and only still have one butt.
It really is a time machine trip. It still has the original tires, probably with the original air from 1967.
The licence plates are Black and Yellow California 1966 plates

this will make a few heads spin in agony....

This was the big go at the time , truly an American thing to do to a Norton if you had the bucks , some really trick stuff on it but better suited to a MK111 with the super blend bottom end bearings .I hear trannys would shit themselves on a regular basis , no wonder really when the commando wasn't much more than a slightly beefed up 500 hence the last one being a detuned 850 .

Nice RD. Brings back memories of riding mine home from Gunnison to Denver one chilly January day, over Loveland pass, in a blizzard.

I wish they were not so expensive these days or I would have another one.

Think I might pick it up.
I'm tired of slow boring bikes.

I am not sure that they were all that fast. However a weak frame and bad geometry would defiantly give the illusion of speed.

Not being able to keep the front wheel on the ground until about 4th gear and blowing away just about any liter bikes 0 - 90 mph or so will create that illusion too.
They were fast, and with a little craftsmanship could be made blisteringly fast.
