Hi Doug,

I just read all your thread over the last two nights. Definitely one of the best RR's I've read, thanks for taking the time to write this up.

Shame that you're not coming further south, I would to have shown you around the west country.

cheers, Bob.

Thanks Bob, I would like to have done that. But I've run out of gas. After spending 4 weeks in Ulan Ude I rushed to make up time. It wore me down. And now it's time to visit my wife again.

Hey Doug! Thought I'd better chime in here with a belated congratulations - you did it! The Netherlands still seems very far away from us at the moment. Get home safe and wish your wife the best from us.

Wanted to ask, how did you get around the visa or did you just apply for another one?

Sure was a long time ago we were riding together and you were spending too much time training me how to use my tablet. I don't think I would ever have stumbled on to some things you showed me.
Glad your stomach problems finally subsided. Must have been tough dealing with that and the heat.

I don't know what visa issue you are asking about. The only visa I needed before I started was the Russian visa. For Americans the 3 year multi entry visa is now standard.

8-28-13 8 miles 17731 total

This afternoon I rode the bike to Wallenius Wilhelms staging area in the Liverpool Port. The form I gave them took about 2 minutes to fill out. I gave him 680 and he said good bye. I couldn't believe it was that simple. He didn't even look at the bike. As I was leaving he did ask where it was.

A van picked me up and took me out of the restricted area. Then I walked to a bus stop.

When I got off of the bus I went to the train station to check the schedule and cost. Tomorrow I will take the train to Holyhead Wales. From there I will take a 3 hour ferry ride to Dublin. Then Friday morning I should be on a plane to Cincinnati. When the bike arrives in Norfolk in 2 weeks, I'll return to ride it home.

Thanks for going through the effort to do the RR, I suspect it really is a lot of work. Enjoyed it.

Will still be checking for the final leg to the driveway.
