depends how much time you want to spend seeing the sites. a plan for folks doing it, especially out of state and want to really take it in and not be pressed for time i'd say 4 days min. and up to 7.

BTW,,, i was on the route (again), the middle section is actually a common run for me to get up in the mtns,,,,

i thought i would take the time to post this pic for those interested. its the middle of cherry creek rd. at devils chasm. for those who want to spend some time wandering, or go for a hike to stretch the legs this would be ideal to set up camp. there is year round water here,,,, my bike is on the rd. the hiking trail and space to set up camp is straight on beyond the sign.

its a somewhat strenuous 3 hrs round trip hike, but well worth it. google devils chasm ruins for some pics and info.

Three long days if you just ride. This assumes you are comfortable in rocks and sand.

There are so many great places to explore along the path you could easily spend two weeks riding it. The route passes through the most beautiful parts of AZ.

I'm flying in for the month of October and hope to finish the route from Winkleman to the UT border. Weather should be nice, right?
