Old Federal Road is another as it crosses GA.

Labeled "Georgia Road" I believe in this old map.

Actually, now that I've looked at it closer, I'm not certain. That almost looks more like Old Hwy 2 to me.

Went back to Louisville for an encore this morning before the storms moved in. Rode through one little shower near Millen on my return to Sylvania.

That looks good and almost square plates. Sante Fe Rider would approve!

Macon just started advertising this venue which I'm going to check out. It's a walking tour through the historic district showcasing some of the old antebellum homes that date back before the Civil War.

That sounds very nice. Macon does have its own allure and appeal. Looks like time for another visit.

I think that you can charge at least a dollar more if you have square plate. Funny I didn't notice the place setting until you pointed it out. . That is one of those places where suits and construction workers mix with garden clubs for lunch.

I guess it has to when you're the only show in town.

Next Entry!

North Beach Bar and Grill, located on Tybee Island adjacent to the old fort across from the lighthouse. The place is very laid back and casual. It's a beach bar so what do you expect. They have a good variety to chose from off the menu, everything from burgers to fried oysters. I decided on the grilled fish sandwich with a side of red rice and beans. It was very good! Of course I had to have a couple of beers to wash everything down! They are open all year long now where in the past, they were only open during the summer months.

i'm loving the theme of this one...

anyone that happens to come through my neck of the woods... i have two suggestions.

#1. Ray's Mill Pond, Ray City, Ga.
http://www.raysmillpond.com/

i love this place... and apparently so does everyone else. this place gets packed FAST. only open thursday-saturday, about 5:30pm-11PM i think. they revamped their website and now their business hours are not on there. menu is, though. excellent gator tail and catfish. i happen to live in ray city. if you're coming through, PM me.. if i'm off work or otherwise available, i might be able to meet up!

#2. Smokin' Pig, Valdosta, Ga
off I-75 Exit 22, about 1.5 miles east of the interstate at "Old US-41" and North Valdosta Rd. Excellent BBQ with good portions.

if i ever go to tybee island, i go to The Crab Shack....

Thanks for the recommendations, we will be sure to investigate them in the future. Crab Shack is great as are several Tybee eateries.
