At a discount, I expect someone would be willing to buy the bike with cash.

Ah yes, but what if a few years down the line the hypothetical aquaintance comes looking for the hypothetical bike?

Close, but no cigar. The hypothetical bike might hypothetically still be a "sport", but a little more "classic", hypothetically. GT.

Which is essentially the same thing ITS does in Montana, but one could hypothetically do it themselves in MA. Does anyone know of an insurance company that would issue a bond so it wouldn't hypothetically have to come out of pocket? The hypothetical NADA value of the bike is right around $5,000, so it'd be $7500 for the bond, hypothetically.

Then again, one hypothetically wouldn't have a signed bill of sale. Ugh.

Is there an innmate that is an attorney in MA?
More on that.

Maybe one could hypothetically have a friend sell it to oneself with a BOS?

Go to the DMV and ask them without all the precious someone who isn't me bullshit, they won't believe it either.

I'm sure you could find someone out there to hypothetically sign a bill of sale

Edit: Shit if it is a Ducati just part it out. They are worth more as parts then whole anyways.

if there is was never a tittle on it i think it will make this easier then harder, the dmv can help you, or tax collectors office who ever is over that up there. if you have record of trying to contact him then you might can just to a storage lean on it and sale it to your self.

in AK you can do whats called an abandoned vehicle process. send a registered letter to the last known owner stating the vehicle is abandoned on your property for more than 6 months and you want it moved, storage fees paid, etc whatever. if the letter comes back as un-deliverable for whatever reason, you take the unopened letter to DMV and they write you a title. dmv has an escape clause of some kind if the vehicle is stolen or chicanery is used etc but for a legit abandon vehicle the title is yours. and it doesn't say anything different like a salvage title does. your state may or may not have something similar.

also, wrecking yards can do this same thing too through a slightly different path. they sell tons of impound rigs that way. that may be another way to go, work through them

You could hypothetically ship it to me in KY, with a bill of sale sent with the driver & I'll hypothetically send you a hypothetical check?
Like said already, if it were vintage a title would be easily done in many states but as newer , I think the abandoned route is it. Ala "mechanics lien" route is my suggestion.

Very much so. I know a guy JUST LIKE this guy (but obviously, not the same guy, obviously). Heard from a mutal aquaintance that this person was living out of his car out in CA... last I heard of him, and that was a couple of years ago. I think he's a trust-fund kid though, so there's money somewhere for him.
