Agreed.

My mind is boggled that the dealer would behave in this way. They are not a new business and I've never heard a negative word about them.

I will wait until they call me back with a timeline and go from there, I know they discussed the repair with the BMW dealer as I had a discussion with the tech in person as I was in that town on unrelated business.

I have had good luck setting up web pages and facebook pages describing ongoing issues with businesses. Keeping it factual: dates, what happened, who said what. When I sense lack of traction, I publish and forward to the business.

Amazing how much stuff gets done once they see that you are serious about airing the dirty laundry in broad daylight (as opposed to just on a board like this one)

Also, as a lawyer, I would say never threaten or hint about lawyers. It's about the least believable threat out there (case in point, people here telling you to use the threat yet you don't have one retained!). When it comes to us, you don't threaten legal action. You just do it, or you don't, all the while preparing your evidence (i.e. documenting).

Confirmed that BMW dealer has the bike in their possession for repair.

Bad news is that it won't be fixed for a week to possibly a bit longer.

Will have to continue to enjoy my back up bike. 1993 Nighthawk 250. The best touring bike ever made.

Well, it sounds as though it is going to be repaired properly, so that's good!

The saddest part occurred to me today.

I want to purchase a particular hooligan style bike to go along with the GS. Unfortunately the undesirable dealer is the local one that carries this line of bikes. I don't know if I want to shuttle said hooligan bike 3 hours each way for service........sigh.

Ask the 'undesireable' if he wants to make amends and sell you the Hooligan for a nice discount. Shake hands, be friends and everyone is happy.
At least that's what the Dali Llama told me

Why not do your own service on the Triumph? The last two bikes I have owned, including the current BMW, do not have dealer support for about the same distance that you have. At least with the BMW things are super simple and rarely need much attention.

Not an only child. Maybe I am old school. I expect honesty and willingness to make things right. I deal with complex regs and make hundreds of decisions a day at work. When I make a mistake, I fall on my sword and make things right. This dealer didn't even go through the I'm sorry motions. Instead they acted adversarial and evasive.

Or it may just be the Irish grudge holding ability handed down to me.

I can't seem to get the loan paperwork from the bank either. 2 weeks in and nothing in the mail. I called them 4 times and was met by confusion on wether they even do motorcycle loans.

This whole process has been bizarre.

Maybe it's all just a bad dream and you'll wake up to a clean, well running machine.

Good Luck tho if it's not a dream/nightmare.

Got the loan coupon book today.

Apparently the bank doesn't allow online payments, you have to use the booklet.

Why have an online account access to the loan if you cannot make payments from a checking or savings account.....................

Apparently they are living in 1993.
