Cool Bultaco at the vintage Meltdown

I spotted this bike at the Vintage Meltdown in NC last weekend. I would have liked to talk to the owner/builder, but never saw anyone near the bike.

cool bike

That's what I'm looking to build, pretty much. Lots of TSS parts on it :)

That looks like a Mk II Metralla with a body kit on it, judging from the wheels, brakes, and engine cases.

That's not a Metralla engine

Did the Mk II get the enclosed chains like the earlier one? If so, I agree with you; now I'm thinking it's a hybrid of bikes.

It's like 3-4 bikes from what I see.

Swing arm appears to be Pursang MK IV, V, VI era, maybe even Astro M90, 104, 106 fame. Hard to tell about the frame, can't see enough to be sure, but gut feeling it is same vintage as the swing arm.

The lowers on the forks look most likely Sherpa T/Alpina vintage.

The engine has a Bul reed block on the back of the cylinder. Any Pursang I rode with a reed valve on it from Bul was healthy..... If it is a 370 with a bit of mild porting, that thing could be surprisingly quick. The 370 reed valve top end on an Astro was a kick ass combination

So its a mongrel....one sweet looking mongrel
