Today I felt better than I have in weeks... So, I got up early and started working on the bike again. I still have many upgrades / farkles to install before I leave.

I assembled the new Leo Vince header (finally, I know...) after having it ceramic coated both inside and out to keep it looking nice (read: no bluing - hopefully). I had to sand some of the coating off to get the 3 pieces to fit together. I used anti-seize on the joints.

I got lucky with the O2 sensors - I have a BMW 3 series car that has the same size O2 sensor fittings, so the 22mm O2 sensor tool I have for my car also fit the bike's O2 sensors. (lucky because I did not have a 22mm wrench and did not trust using an adjustable wrench)

The old header up to and just after the cat is very blued. I'll post some photos tomorrow of it, my camera battery died after taking the photos of the new header assembled. I had to take off the supplemental crash bars and the valve cover guards to get the lower spark plug cover off (this is where the O2 sensors plug into the bike). THEN, I had to remove the center stand bash plate to get the old header out from under the bike.

I also removed the stock alternator belt cover and installed the BMW HP carbon fiber belt cover. This thing is sick... I'll post photos of it tomorrow as well...

I completed the LV header and slip-on installation. Only one missing part... The bracket that attaches the exhaust hanger to the frame was not in the box, so I found a temporary one in my stuff. I called Leo Vince USA and they are going to send me the missing part.

Old header and exhaust can... note how blue it is everywhere except for the cat ...

The new carbon slip-on...

Header installed... Also, this shows the carbon fiber BMW HP alternator belt cover...

Today, I completed some of the miscellaneous installations I have left to complete before I depart on my adventure. I also received in the mail the supplemental tail light bar I ordered from Twisted Throttle...

The BMW frame guards...

Left side frame guard and the SideKicker side stand, stowed...

Right side highway peg... also, this photo shows the right side fuel tank guard, previously installed...

Left side highway peg, stowed... and the left side fuel tank guard, previously installed...

SideKicker side stand, deployed and extended to its longest length... (it is not sitting on the ground, although it looks like it is)

Front, left side of bike, showing the Aux Light guard (previously installed), the carbon fiber alternator belt cover (previously installed), and the skid plate reinstalled after headers installation...

I'm getting close... perhaps, within the next 2 weeks... I'm down to the last few things I have to complete before leaving and I'm feeling much better these days... Thanks for asking!

You have an amazing time Andy! My plans have changed about a thousand times - I'm now heading up through Colorado, Wyoming, Montana then Banff and Jasper. If time I'd like to go up to Yellowknife. When you talked about your trip I was inspired to ride to Unavik, but that's out of my budget for now.

Completed the installation of the Large, with clear lens, AdMore Lighting LED LightBar from TwistedThrottle.com. I wanted more rear visibility, especially during the long daylight hours of this trip...

An overhead view of the final wiring, before wire-tying in place...

For more detailed installation information, see this thread...

Sound clip of my Leo Vince Complete Exhaust System... Please ignore the shaking of the license plate bracket - I removed the luggage grid and rear support to install the LED light bar... Near the end of the sound clip, I demo the LED light bar...

I completed all of the new item installations today (except for the one I have not received as of yet - I'm probably going to cancel the order since it is mostly cosmetic ). I have a couple of things left to do - reinstall the right mirror after I find the mirror extension bracket that I have somehow misplaced, and replace the lower attachment hardware for the windscreen that broke at the Jimmy Lewis class.

If my health holds the way it is now, I am pretty sure I'll be able to set out early next week.
