I have the pleasure to announce that DirtKlod will be joining us as Chase Truck. He's going to be carrying water, gas, lite tools etc... Trailer is available for emergency need. He'll be meeting with us on specified points or some would like to call it check points. Pitch in for fuel for his truck is always welcome.

Yup. What he said. So if there was something you wanted to take but decided not to because it was too heavy, let me know and you can just chuck it in the truck. I'll also be bringing a couple ice chests to keep whatever you need kept cold... cold.

Geeezzzz Eddy, your getting a chase truck, forest fire detours, and what next for this ride? I wish I was there, but there's fish to be caught too......................

You guys have a great, fun, and safe ride!!!!!

We are going to miss u on this one Paul. We are going to pass where u have contact with that horse and if I encountered that bastard out there I am fixing on giving him heart attack with my loud muffler we'll have horse Jerky that night...
We can all Thank Tom "DirtKlod" for the Chase truck intervention. That's an awesome and generous move from his behalf.
Regarding the fire issue I still doubt on diverting the route it's to early to tell and we're way north of Williams. It all depend on the wind. The worse case scenario we'll pick up some fishing rods from sporting goods near by, some worms and join you I don't mind fish for dinner...

Based on the aerial imagery from today, it looks like there is not near as much smoke.

Smoke plume is still thick but more concentrated today. There is also a new fire just east of Tusayan. Shouldn't be much of a threat as they think it will be contained later today...

That would be a good idea too he can keep tracking us live while moving along. Pm Tom "DirtKlod" for that matter or u can add him as a viewer to ur tracks. I think u need to add his phone# and email address on your Spot's profile. I stopped my Spot service temporarily ...

That is a really cool idea however, I'm kinda old school and don't even have an iPhone. I do have an iPad though (wifi only) that would work IF somebody had a hot spot (and car charger) they would be willing to let me borrow for the weekend???

Well crud. I wandered out to make sure my rescue trailer was road ready and discovered a little problem with one of the tires...

Darn sun rot. Guess I will go get a couple new tires tomorrow. $$$

Thanks Eddy but they have to be replaced sooner or later and it might as well be sooner than later.
