My crew missed me. They also enjoyed the doggie trail mix I brought home. I hope they don't expect it after every trip I take.

Postscript

Garth has now sold his KLX250 to my son who is just starting riding. I look forward to adventures with him soon.

Garth and I have just bought DR650's that we hope to take on more distant journeys. Mine will be traversing the TAT next spring. Garth can't go due to work. Anyone care to join me?

Thank you. We have actually been accused of being selfish, not going open source. We felt a debt to this community, and this community alone.

Yours is a very understandable position. I am reluctant to post some routes because I don't want them to be ridden by people who don't understand the potential risks involved. It only takes one incident to put a clamp on an area. A big thanks for all the hard work.

And on a selfish note, the maintenance is surely reduced.

Rough draft subject to modification:

Departing sometime from May 10 through May 18.

Trailer down to Telico Plains TN.

R.O.N. Tellico, start the ride the next day.

Ride five weeks to Oregon.

Transport bikes and riders back to Tellico somehow but no riding them back.

As an alternate plan, trailer to Tellico, have a third party drive car and trailer back home to New England. Transport bikes and riders back to New England but no riding them back.

More pic...

Garth sent me some more pictures. We've been impressed by the abilities of the iPhone. He has a better eye for the shot and often gets a superior result when we have the same subject. Here are some random shots:

Our base camp tent. We brought a larger one for the first and as it turned out, last two nights. This allowed us to keep our smaller ride tents stowed.

Me slaying the dragon. Yeah, it's just a proof. I'm still not sure it's worth of me parting with $15. Note the extreme lean
