The grey one is street going adventure (minus the R) right?

Sweet Thanks again for pointing out bolton!!
So apparently someone had a deposit on one but then couldn't sell their bike in time so they have asked for the deposit to go on one from next year.. Whoever that was, thank you! as my deposit has just gone on that one..

So KTM 1190 Adv r coming soon as i organize finance this week.

For my circumstances, Shannons, $707 per year agreed value etc etc

Make sure you nominate Adventure 1190R, not RC8 1190R.

QBE where prepared to match/ beat Shannons but I had no need to change companies for a couple of bucks a week.

In Comparison, how have you found the size/weight in dirt compared to the f800?
I loved my F8, but on the road it 'felt' old and heavy compared to the 1190R.

Havent done any real dirt yet, but it has the feel of a bike that is going to be brilliant off-road.

Had TKC 80s(Twinduros) fitted yesterday, not my favorite tire, well not the rears anyway, fronts are excellent, they are the only tire KTM has approved with the electronics package.

And I love the suspension, its got klickers, you can adjust it, its awesome!!

And its fast, very effing fast!!

My new baby!

Where did that come from and which electronics package did they mean?
Engine or suspension, given the R doesn't have the suspension...?

When AMCN did their test I remember their R being supplied with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres.

Brisbane KTM PPia.I think they where talking AABS/MTC blah blah. Price was good too.

I am happy with the choice, just got back from a 260k ride and it had rain and dirt in there and they where excellent.

Looks like the mud caking of an E-07?

Great on dirt roads, no good in sticky mud at all.

I didn't think they did the E-07 in 150/18?

Got to work out the traction control a bit today in the wet and on a few dirt bits, its amazing how good it is.

I used QBE. Quoted $598 but got about 10% off that as I also have another bike with them.

Thanks for the info on the insurance guys..

insuremyride was $3699
Swan $1341
QBE was $634 but cos of my rating 2 due to an at fault accident a couple of months ago it was $778..

I think thats reasonable, so ill go with that.

Could of swore they said the one on the showroom floor was the one i was buying, i might go pay them a visit as I haven't been there yet..

I requested a quote from QBE last week, missus forwarded the email to me tonight, got on the phone to Shannons to find out why their quote was higher for the same specifics, its now been fixed.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on it being a genuine mistake which they have now rectified.

ridden the Adv 1190, not the R, really bad headshakes, lifts the front too much and at the same time electronics cut in which creates shaking...not good if you start with full throttle and into the corner when front doesn't stick properly....awerall feeling that the weight distribution is too much to the rear
Also seat was way too low for me, knees completely bent and worst the feet on the pegs din't have a firm grip, as were not sitting flat.
In the turn it doesn't have a nice smooth transition in and out, rather like on a worn edged tire it starts to leand and then suddently drops in the turn...probably tire choice will fix that. Maybe a 17" front will make it where it has started SMT and it will handle better
Bars are same akward as 990, needs replacement + risers, clutch slave same, would benefit from a rekluse)))

Engine is fun-but too much for this kind of bike, just to have electronics constantly taiming it from wheeling....brakes are too sharp to my liking with initial bite....

Awerall-sounds good but requires almost the same work as 990 in order to make it a true weapon.

So I'm 100% a 990 keeper!!!
