OK, looks like someone removed the pictures. Lets keep this thread a 1190 thread and post our improvements on the 1190.

I found the mtc doesn't limit the height but more so the duration from my experience.. Like if u pop the clutch rather than power it up, it will still pop high enough..

If ur in the upper end of the rev range in 1st or 2nd it comes up even in street or rain modes.. Rain mode dies off fast though..

I am working on the S Spec suspension. I sat down with James from Superplush last week and we looked at the microfiche from the 1190 and compared. he thinks that maybe my S forks will fit into the triples and we would just change the bottom leg from the 1190R..

The microfiche we were looking at was the 1190 though and he needs to look at the 1190R microfiche if anyone has a link I will send it to him

Thx

Not quite sure of what a microfiche is, but if its just a pic of anything im happy to take it (as long as I dont have to pull my suspension apart)

Microfiche is the (used to be, anyways) microfilm showing a breakdown of all the parts in assembly, it's what you use to order the parts you need. Usually at the dealer, but KTM used to provide a hard copy book with the same information.

Couple of questions.

Has anyone removed the SAS system and installed blocking plates ?

Can you uncheck the SAS box in TuneECU to disable the SAS, same
as with the 990.
Is there a carbon canister that needs to be removed ?

Is anyone making a decatted header ?

What are people doing to increase intake flow, Rottweiler or others
aftermarket filters ?

Then off course it follows, has anyone had a new map built which
is compatible with TuneECU.

The above will be the first things I'll need to do to a new R, along with
a set of Woody's wheels, 1.85/21 3.50/18.

I did some of the things you mention above on my 950 SM because it was needed. From the factory it was made to pass stringent emission laws and did not run as it was suposed to and the catalyst were very heavy and mounted high. The 1190 on the other hand has a punchy 150hp in sport mode, supersmooth throttle control in enduro mode and very good overall gasmileage. Catalyst is relatively small and mounted low. I think KTM did a very good jobb this time making a good bike from the start enginwise. I have changed to a Uni-filter for better filtering, not increased flow. I never felt the need to change anything so far in 13000 miles, just saying!

I've met a guy in Europe who did just what you described above, Paul.
I can probably contact him if you need more info.

When are you getting your new beast?

If you could get his contact info that would be great. I am getting the first one that comes to Moto Café

James from Superplush is also very interested in this because he is aware many riders are going to want more suspension travel on these new bikes.

Sweet for you. It's a fun bike. With the proper suspensions, it should be even better. I've bottomed it a couple times (the R) and I wasn't even riding all that hard.

I'll contact the guy and see if he is willing. He doesn't speak english though I'll send him your email. is that ok?

Tiger vs KTM

Burren Rider. I would be interested to hear your comparisons with the Tiger. Can't imagine a better person to comment. Have some vague notion of traveling Europe at some point and the purchase of a KTM at the factory for this then ship home is tempting...
