GPS file or route sheets? I have prepared the route using Garmin BaseCamp and NZopen GPS autorouting maps.
We were playing at Phils with them today and the routes were doing nutso things until we realised he didnt have some of the roads on the maps he had in BaseCamp.
So if you want to run the GPS files you will need the NZopen maps or equilvilent (yeah I know its spelt wrong, sue me ) Your GPS will need to be Garmin or compatible with Garmin routes.
Any more technical questions please address them to Rosie
Phil and I have decided to route sheet the section through Pureora forest anyway , mainly so we can justify going for a ride there to do it

Don't have a GPS. Route sheets or google maps instruction would be cool.

Fuel, 295 kms max between fuel. Thats the distance from Inglewood to Whakamaru, despite what I said earlier there is no fuel avaliable weekends at Bennydale.
Can anyone confirm for me if the fuel at Rangitara is avaliable sundays? Save me getting off my lazy bum and making a phone call.
Te Araroa is card pay so no problems there. Although the lady did mention some oversea,s cards may not work. Youse South Islanders may need to check youse selfs up

OMG no GPS. How can you get properly lost and frustrated without a GPS
I printed off a Section of the route in route sheet style format. Not what you are used to with route sheet adv rides but what base camp prints out. I will try to post a section of it up so you can see for your self. Looks follow able, not quite like a Purple line though

Do you have the gps files already? It might take me a month to load them on & work out what to do with them

Surely we must be able to get something from BMW NZ with the amount of superior motorcycles attending?

Well, it took considerable effort on our part But we think we have done it In the rain and cold yesterday Phil, Al and I went and route sheeted the forest section . We then went and had a close look at the sign (which I couldnt read on Google Earth) beside a road we wanted to use at Kinleith, it basically said "piss off" . Although it said it much gooder than that.
Slight route change to accomodate the lack of hospitality and Bobs Ya Uncle DUN!!!!

Did I mention it pissed down all day

Saturday 26th to Monday 28th Oct.

Realistically you'd need to include Friday 25th for the ride to the 'Naki (including diversions ). Ride 'Naki to Kawerau Sat, ride to East Cape Sun, home Mon (or other diversions ).
