The moto clicked over 37,000 miles today! No problems other than loose and bent spokes on the rear wheel from the accident back in July. Should have replaced rim and spokes like I did the front. Replacement rear wheel purchased from an Inmate is en-route to Dallas, TX. I will mount December when I pass through.

I will be headed to Dallas, TX from Escuintla tomorrow morning. I have a number of items that have been purchased and sent to my daughter's house. Included in the list is the rear wheel already discussed here. A second cooling fan. I have had issues a number of times going through Austin, TX and Acapulco, MX. I am tired of being paranoid of the moto over heating. A spare Water Pump seal and shaft, plus front and rear tires. A KTM aluminum Timing Cover Plug. And a host of other PM supplies.

The moto continues to be trouble free! Current mileage is about 37,500. I have not taken any long rides this past month due to the rear wheel issue. I will return to Mexico before Christmas and will be headed back to Central America Dec 29.

I've just joinged the 50k club.
I hope I never have anything to add here, ie nothing drastic ever happens.
I did consider trading her in for a new 2012 or 2013 990 but decided to keep her, mod her up exactly to my specs and ride her till she dies.
But I will keep you posted.

I was given a good offer from my Mexican Insurance Company to repair my moto! But I have not received the money yet. I decided to "gift" the 2007 990 oto to my cousin who is a huge KTM fan, past owner and racer as well. I had my daughter purchase a low mileage 2010 KTM 990 Adventure for me while I was still in Mexico. I will pick it up this afternoon.

The original reason for this Thread was trying to determine the 990s reliability for long distance travel and it ability to be reliable for 100,000 miles plus. I can't say that that question has been totally answered, but it has been satisfied enough that there was no real question as to what the 2007 990 would be replaced with! OK, I give a little thought to the new 1190s, but decided to wait a while for that.

Due to the interest in this Tread while it was active and because I would like to keep info flowing for my own purposes and maybe help someone else as well, I plan on starting a new Thread for the new moto. I will put a link here.

Oh, the new one is white.

Good to hear

Good luck on the new one. I'm sure the miles will rack up quickly. Down in Puerto Vallarta now on my 950, and this bike works well on the cobblestone and topes. Good Mexico machine.

The 2007 990 had 38,000 miles on it when my cousin got it. The new to me 2010 990 had 6,540 miles on it when I picked it up. Here is the new moto:
