Brand New CR250Rs

Come on down, the price is .......well totally frickin' loopy!

http://motorcycle.goobike.com/web/mo...&nenshiki_end=

And the real crazy thing is on the Japanese language web site the same bikes at the same store are going for 1,000,000 yen.

http://www.goobike.com/bike/honda__cr250r/summary.html

When 1$ = 104 yen. 1,000,000 divided by 104 = $9,615.

WTF? $6,805 difference. I wonder how they can justify the $6,805 price hike on their English language web site?

What do you guys think? Is $16,420 worth it for a new CR250?
How about $9,615 for a new CR if you can say, 'konnichiwa'?

CR250, too many ponies? Too many pennies?
About about a new TS185?

http://motorcycle.goobike.com/web/mo...&nenshiki_end=

New TS185 $7,320, and on the Japanese language web site:

http://www.goobike.com/bike/suzuki__...r/summary.html

366,500 yen. 366,500 divided by 104 = $3,524.

The 'konnichiwa' difference of $3,796.

Funny, buy a new KTM smoker for 1/2 that.

Totally agree.

Strange how 2 strokes are commanding big bucks now that they are 'rare'.

One of the appeals to 2 strokes apart from the incredible ride fun factor was that they were cheap to buy and cheap to maintain.
I am sure for most of us older folk, they were the bikes we cut our teeth on back in the day.

There is a shop here selling new 2013 YZ250s for $7,000. How does that compare to prices else where in the world? To me it seems like a more down too earth pricing.

For sure, I'm a geezer and love my smokers. Use to freshen up the top end of my old RD's on my lunch break.

That $7K for a 2013 YZ250 is more realistic. I paid around $7800 OTD for my new 2013 KTM 300EXCW about 6 months ago.
