Can't see my Garmin 255w

Any one else having problems seeing their Garmin 255w in sunlight? Mine is mounted on my KLR's LH handlebar with a RAM mount. I can see my Etrex Vista mounted in the same position just fine.

Question clarification

How do I make my Garmin 255w screen more viewable in sunlight?

As I remember 255w is an older model. Screens got better since those times.
Older screens did have problem with readability in direct sunlight.
There is probably not much you can do about it. You can play with brightness settings, there are no other configurable visibility options. Changing mounting angle or adding some sort of sun visor may help too.

I have seen where some have fashioned a bill or visor to better shield the screen from direct sunlight.

You do know the Nuvi is not optimized for MC out outdoor use? Garmin has other units which are easer to see in direct sunlight.
