Club Laverda Queensland 2013 Concours

Howdy folks, we've had a change in major sponsors after the previous one pulled out at the last minute (thanks....) so Motodry have stepped up to the plate, big thanks to them.

So here's this years poster and in the next day you will see all the instructions on how to enter and where to go if you are showing, concoursing or just coming along to look at the iron. There's some interesting machines being prepared and you will notice a new category for Cafe Racers although we're still arguing what the strict definition of Cafe Racer really is....

http://www.clublaverdaqld.com/#!concours-2013

The comments on last years thread about the food have been noted so we're working on that one amongst other improvements. As can be seen from the poster it's the 25th Concours so hopefully we'll see you all there!

Glad to see you know there's a difference between a concourse and a Concours.....
Looks like a great event - enjoy!

Mods, pease do not allow drikko to fix the thread title. We need this thread as a permanent reminder when the spelling nazzi strikes.

Ah ha, I double checked that when I was writing it, either spelt or spelled is OK http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spelt

That would be an American dictionary... wretched colonials haven't got a single thing right since 1773 and that silliness in Boston...

Bloody colonials are taking over everything...
Look what the Yanks did to Encyclopaedia Britannica: first they took the 'a' out of Encyclopaedia, now they don't even print it in books.

'Spelt' could also mean "an old kind of wheat with bearded ears and spikelets that each contain two narrow grains, favoured as a health food" - so an entirely unrelated noun - whereas 'spelled' is only associated with words or signs.

But Concourse is definitely incorrect in this context ...

Agree with you about US spellings totally. I especially cringe when I hear sodering ie I'm sodering these wires together, and aluminum really hurts my brain!! We all know sodering is something you do to sheep in unzud.

Oh BTW:-

That would explain why N.Z. is a holiday destination for Yanks.

Been awhile since I've been to the Concourse, got runner up in 91 with my 900SS at my first and only entry. Was pretty funny as the bike would not run right when I was about to leave so I had to pull the carbs apart and found some shit in one, anyway got on and fanged it down to Brissy from the Sunny Coast in record time. They said I was to late to enter but changed their mind when they say my bike,so I was directed where to park and I got off and walked around to check everything out.Seemed weird that most had trailered their bikes there and were all busy polishing and dusting every part, well I walked back to mine just as a fella was looking and touching and writing stuff down,he told me he was a judge and I had lost points for having chain lube on the chain guard and my clutch did not have the correct freeplay at the lever. Oh well they gave me this.
Regards Eric

Hey drikko, I've been thinking about your 3 word premature problem. If you try really hard to control yourself, you might last the distance and get multi spell oh hell responses from erics post.

Precis, don't worry, it's a long sailing related story involving andy P , a chainsaw, naked women and long hair. Someting about drikkos childhood...you don't want to go there...
