More experiences than you can poke a stick at in thh US.

This time round i scored another "Ride Along", with the Fish And Game Warden.
I met Ben at the local law enforcement despatch office for a day out on lake kookanoosa. The day was mainly spent checking fishing licences and boat regos.

Its quite odd here as most of the law enforcement agencies & government entities don't seem to get much funding. The have old out of date equipment. It isnt like OZ government agencies who seem to wast money hand over foot.

His boat did 37mph flat out.
Not really a criminal chaser.

A truely beautiful man made lake that some of the locals claim has stuffed up the Eureka weather patterns as a result.

A great little spot overlooking Eureka. Crap phone picture though.

For the last week i managed to go to the Kallispell rodeo. Get some more oil filters for my bike as ive done nearly 17,000klms in the two months i have been here. Put on some more handlebar grips as the old ones were worn out.

Change the oil again nd replace the rubber grommets for the BDCW bash pate, fit another rear tyre. I managed to get just under 9000klms out of the last kenda 270. So quite impressed with with the cheap trye plan so far.

I have been helping out a bloke here digging a 1meter wide trench about 500meteres long to ay power cable in one trench and water in the other. But whilst straddling both trenches i managed to roll the track off the excavator & get it stuck. Even pulling with D6D Cat dozer i couldnt budge it, and just broke chains. So about five hours later i managed to get it out & get the track back on & hopefully this week the cause', of the damaged rollers will be replaced.

A horse ride up into the high country tomorrow is on the aged so i m really looking forward to tat.

G'day Hodgo,

Great ride report, mate. Enjoying your travels.

Keep posting regular, so we can't get started on any rumours
that you have headed off to Vegas to get married,
wearing an Elvis costume.

I could totally see him dressed (in drag) in Vegas but I don't see him getting married , I mean you have seen him right?

Awesome

Hey Hodgo, just found this RR and it's awesome. Really enjoyed the diversity in your approach. Have you found many slippery concrete causeways to practise your sliding style? That slide fully crossed up clear across the creek on the Maidenwell run will stay in my mind till I get Alzheimers. It was spectacular.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers, Hawksy

Found plenty of slippery wooden bridges over here to practice that. I had forgotten about that one though.

Glad you like the rr. Need to update some more tonight.

I managed to do a quick run from Eureka over to Pollbridge and then on to columbia falls & get some filters at Kallispell.

I just love the scenery in Montana

I ran into these guys at Pollbridge and had a bit of a yarn about bikes and general, differences between Australia & the US.

This is heading toward Eureka MT from White Fish

I used this photo when I traveled around the US a few years ago.
Got me some free beers.

Yeah mate went out to supper with bob & his lovely wife last night.

Nope i couldn't have given a rodent's rectum about my spork, but was good to catch up with yourself & Jack for a beer & a ride into Kamloops.

The oil leak under my bike is ever so elusive to track down where its coming from. Has me stumped.

Just stopped here at Kamloops sussing out a new front tyre to take with me north, but being a public holiday here yesterday, equates to a public motorcycle shop holiday today. Caught out again with this stupid no Monday open rule for bike shops, & you guys reckon us Aussies don't work much.

Young Paul, How ya doing mate, hope all is well in your neck of the woods & you managed to find a new owner for your yellow bumble bee.

Fat chance of me being married in Vegas mate. Trying to update things here to dull down the rumor mill.

To Pbee

Its quite interesting to me anyhow about the different size trucks that are here in North America. It seems that each state has their own set of rules regarding weights & axles.

In Canada i don't see any pri-movers with a helper axles that steers like you do in the states. But i do see some triaxle trailers that have a helper axle with a single at the rear of the trailer with limited steer. I guess being right at the rear of the trailer, being able to follow steer would help improve tyre life with less scraping on turns.

Most of the trucks seem to be only 10speed RR too.

Explaining to a North American what a "Road Train" is tends to raise a few eyebrows.

Update now that School has started & tourist have all gone home.

I left Eureka at just before midday on Saturday and headed north towards Jasper to try and catch up with Canadian Chris. I made it into Blue River at a little before 930pm. Was a long trip with a few dodgy turns thrown in.

A quick beer & a bit of a yarn and i got to meet Chris's mate Jack.

Chris managed to con a german chick into taking our group photo.

Scenery up through the icefield parkway was pretty nice. Temps would have been less than 20degC .
The glacier was pretty impressive to say the least.

Tried some arty farty photography.

Ive decided to head north for a few reasons.
1. Colder climate equals more pleasant riding for me & bike.
2. Less tourists up north now they are all heading south.
3. Less bugs and mozzies up north. Mosquito (Just for DSM8)
4. I will be back down south about the same time the current heat down there has gone away.

Some more scenery as i know Seano is a pictures man.

Once i realised this was in my rear view mirror i hit the skids for a couple of photos.

I getting much better at taking reverse pictures whilst moving, but there are a few dud photos during the risky process.

Bit of thick white stuff up top still.
