Thumb Done and gone...

Well dropped the looser off at the airport last night, due to the myriad of intersting thing that have been going on at LAX as of late (shooting and the like) we decided to err on the side of caution and get him there 3 hours early.

Will be interesting to see how he made it through customs, I am sure he was fine with the rubber glove inspection. He even made comment of looking forward to it, like the mint you get after a good dinner. Kind of the icing on the cake for the trip.

Over the weekend dragged his ass through Death Valley. Ended up being about a 700 mile weekend for him on the Strom. Got to see his sand riding skills (in a very unexpected manner).

A ride report and pictures will be forth coming.

Sean-O remember I expect to see the correct color scheme applied to his Ute for the welcome home party, anything less and I will sent the Brits to your place to show you how to get it done properly.

update Nov 2013

Well according to sleepy john we made the ABC news & had to dump 100 tons of fuel over the ocean. It took a bit over one hour to dump the fuel at 25,000 feet.

Some people amaze me though and insisted on carrying on about the miss hap, but I'm pretty certain I'd rather be lying here in the Sheraton Hotel than swimming the pacific ocean.

Dave ....."Unload" mate, & I hope you have that special spring in your step today.

Which reminds of the one about the Paddy the Irishman up in the air.

Big bump and shudder and shortly after the pilot comes over the intercom "Unfortunately we've just lost an engine, but we still have 3 and a light fuel load, so we'll carry on a just be a bit slower."

A bit later, Bang! and pilot comes over the intercom "Unfortunately we've just lost anther engine, but we still have 2 and a light fuel load, so we'll carry on a just be a bit later with our arrival."

A bit later, and you guessed it, Bang! and pilot comes over the intercom after as bit and says "Unfortunately we've just lost another engine, but we still have 1 and these things still fly OK with 1 engine, just slower."

Well the atmosphere in the cabin is getting a bit 'tight' when Paddy, who had been contemplating the situation yelled out to everyone "Feck, if another one goes we'll be up here all fecking night"

A couple of days earlier this would have come in handy around our campfire. Still waiting for dsm8 to post up photos of the event.

Oh nice, A380, you might be able to get some carbon fibre bits off it to for the KTM.
