Well I'm in no hurry and if it doesn't work out with Apache I will gladly road trip down there to pick one up. Any reason to go for a ride! When do you expect them to make to the Sierra Vista location?

no problem

Checked in this morning and we are only getting one this month and it's already sold. We will be getting in more next month, seems like a slow roll out.

I didn't much care for the exhaust header as all 3 pipes are tied together which I thought was odd. Also, they have no fly screen at all but some mounting points for them. Overall, very cool bike. I didn't get a chance to ride one but I plan on riding one in the future. The blue wheels on the black (charcoal) one didn't really look all that bad.

I think Yamaha hit it out of the park on this one. Especially the way it is priced.
I took the trip up to Woodinville on Sat as well. The red was nice but the grey with the purple wheels really did it for me. My only complaint was the header, it's just so ugly. The rest of the bike makes up for it though, and it feels so light coming off a Bandit

Akra full system headers look a lot like stock too:

Want to see ugly, just take a look at what Triumph is using on their Tiger 800's. Looks like some sort of a dairy milking machine.

To me, the headers on the stock exhaust look fine. It's the ugly, huge underbelly chamber that looks out of place (just like the S1000RR). Akra appears to be the only option currently. If Yamaha sells these bikes like I think they will, there will probably be several offerings from exhaust manufacturers in the near future for the FZ-09.

Including a slip-on, I'd think. Most folks are willing to do a little cutting.

Oh boy, found out most of the dealers advertising the FZ-09 don't even have one, and some don't know when they will be getting one.

One dealer told me there was alot of initial demand and someone at Yamaha told him they had to hurry and up production to bring more to the USA.

Humm, not sure how to take that information. I don't think I like them "hurrying" to produce more bikes. Also, I think once the initial frenzy dies down there will be tons of them, and they might wind up really cheap in a few months. Like pretty much every single other naked Jap bike ever brought to the USA. I can buy a new $10,500 MSRP FZ1 for 7K.

Just and FYI.
Oh, and Halls Motorsport here in Alabama has one of the lowest advertised prices on the FZ-09 at $7,199. But OTD that price magically turned to $8795. Keep in mind, my tax is only $199. Soo, $1397 in "fees" on a $7199 bike.
What a joke. I remember now they tried to do this a year ago when I called them about a KLX250S, $3899 became over $5200.
They are deceitful and are generally very rude as well. Stay away. FYI

Bama, bet Halls doesn't ever get return sales business. At least they shouldn't. Sounds like the finance manager helped create the Affordable Care Act. Just sayin'. tp

My Trophy is in for a few little issues and the shop has loaned me a Street Triple. Fuelling is FAR better than the MT09 i rode a couple of weeks back. Crisp and perfectly metered. Closed throttle behaviour is excellent. Engine lacks some go compared to the Yamaha though.
