BMWRA Biltmore Camping 2013

Just trying to find out any additional info on the tent camping set up at the Biltmore Rally this year. Anyone know if there will be showers or a dish washing sink? Any additional info about camping and the rally would be great. If your pre registered do you just show up at the Biltmore? Are there certain times you need to show up? The BMWRA website is really lacking on any sort of info.

thanks

I read on the RA page that you check in at the local BMW dealer first, then head over to the Biltmore grounds. They have a couple of maps on the rally page that shows the camping layout.

still doesn't answer his question......he wants to know what sort of accommodations are made for campers, like, running water, bathrooms, showers.....no mention of that on the RA web page...

I gathered when I preregistered to just run a copy off of the confirmation and present it at the gate....may need to confirm this though.

There will be showers and portapotties. Potable water should be available, given that showers are available.

I don't know about facilities for washing dishes, etc.

From what I understand, you should have received a communication that tells you to go first to registration, which is at Eurosport Asheville, just around the corner from the Biltmore Estate entrance.

I went to the last one there, 2007, yes, there were shower trailers, port o johns, and I think I remember some faucets about, but not sure about that.
more importantly, there WAS beer!
the camping is nothing too glamorous, pretty much a big open field, so don't expect a wilderness mountain type setting. there are some trees about, and some shaded places along the road that folks snuck tents into, but the majority of the camping area is a field, so if ya want shade, bring it with you.

So how screwed am I if I want to attend but didn't preregister? I haven't been to one of these events yet. Been too busy at work but this isn't too far from home. Might be able to squeeze it in. Can I just show up and register?

Rally welcome

I know this might sound like a stupid question....but I was planning on dropping by the rally on the R100S and my SO has decided that theBiltmore sounds like fun. The only problem is she will not camp or ride the R100S. Will hotels be available nearby and cheap? And never have attended any of the BMWRA events will my wife's GoldWing, which I chauffeur, cause a problem?

Plenty of hotels in the Asheville area. Since you are asking for cheap hotels not affordable I'd guess your looking for sub $100 a night which will be hard to find. You may have luck in Canton or Hendersonville which are about 30 minutes away, Canton west, Hendersonville south.
