My new love affair beguins....early next week!

When this arrives.

Its a 2001 XR400R with about 50 total hours on it. I am trading my 1973 CB350F for it straight across and throwing in my project CL350s since the guy is the RIGHT guy who can restore the good CL and ride the CB. I will plate it the first week, and then beguin the mods that need to be done. All I plan to do is the normal XR400 Stuff,

full exhaust system, flat slide carb, the fixes needed that the factory screwed up on like the intake screen and airbox mods, and change ALL fluids to Royal Purple or some synthetics. I will also have a set of SM rims laced, but before that I will look for either a set of stock or aftermarket hubs for that so I can keep the stock wheels and such for DUal sporting.

I have wanted one since they came out and always had something else. When I had my XR600R Stupidmoto I was always hearing how much better the XR400R handled and that it was just as fast. We shall see, after I do all the mods it should be about as fast as a god running stock XR600R.

After trying like six lights on the XR600R supermoto, I want nothing but bark burning light output. This raxce light provides that so I feel the need!

LED is much brighter.... lighter weight too. A 28W LED will absolutely murder this light and you wont even have to upgrade your stator.

do you have a link? And the data that shows how a 28w LED can be as bright as a 100w 8in round light? I would love to see that because if true, I'll buy the LED for sure.

I know! Sure I would love to have a 1098SPS but no one will trade me a newer one for my CB350F like this guy is.

HID will blow away LED all night, every night. Halogen will also, but with far less eficiency.

LEDS are nice for close range work, and if you never exceed 35mph at night.

Yeah see and I ride on the street and in the middle of no where and far too fast at night. This is exactly why this 8in race light looks great, and it is available in HID which I might opt for. Save for the price is almost twice as much. And with a 200w stator, I don't really need efficiency.

I am not sure, but I myself would be looking at getting the 8" halo and converting it to HID with a $25 DDM 55w kit. Because it is using a lens instead of just a reflector for shaping the beam, it should work just fine. In fact, by going of the picture, they both appear to be using the same lens.

I know that when I turn off my HID, the 100w halogen looks like a 25w fog lamp.

It is really nice seeing the horse's eyes at 3/4 of a mile as opposed to 30 yards, and those HIDs make eyes glow very bright.
