Ride for St Jude's - "The Mayberry Tour"

Hey gang, here's a chance to ride some great roads and help out a wonderful charity. I got a call one night from St Jude's and couldn't say no to arranging a ride for this charity. I've never done this before, but what the heck. We have some great roads around here and even better people.

The idea is to stop at a few iconic places in N.C. around "Mayberry" and raise money for some folks in need. We'll charge $20 per bike minimum and at each stop solicit a few dollars from the locals. You're encouraged to increase your starting amount by asking people to sponsor you for the ride.

Paperwork (pictured below) will be provided at the meeting place (Olympic Family Restaurant) and I will collect and send in everything when we are done. They offer small gifts at different contribution levels. The biggest gift is helping families going through a terrible time fighting pediatric cancer. Families don't have to pay anything at St Jude's Children's Hospital during their most trying time due to donations and efforts by people like you.

Please reply and show your support for this cause. Reply with "I'm in" if you can join us. Every kind of bike is welcomed. Thrill-seekers at the front and chillin at the back. We all get to the same place at our own pace.

If necessary, we can do a rain date the next day (June 23rd).

Forms http://www.stjude.org/SJFile/alsac-p...elope-fy13.pdf

I'll start a list here so people will see all the cool kids going and want to join in.

I was able to find the forms online. I added a link above and here... http://www.stjude.org/SJFile/alsac-p...elope-fy13.pdf

I have some to pass out when we ride also.

It's great to see people ready to go!

I'd also like to participate. I'm coming out of Wilmington, is there anyplace I can pitch a tent near the start or finish area?

Dan,

The start of the ride is pretty close to Hanging Rock State Park. There is some good camping there.

Count me in as a definite maybe. I'd want to go but I'm not sure if I can.

There are no tent sites available this weekend...bummer. I might have to go stealth.

Try here..... http://mooresspringscampground.blogs...p/camping.html

It is within 2 miles of the entrance to hanging rock.
If not Pilot Mtn state park has a campground.
