For those of us who don't have a clock. Or a watch. Or a computer. Or a sundial. Thanks.

Dovi would have been a fool not to take the 2 year contract with Ducati. He's had 22 podium finishes and the odd podium finish is all he could have expected if he stayed at tech3. Cal has about as much chance of winning a race this year as does Dovi - something weird will have to happen in either case.

Going into this year Dovi would be expected to finish the year somewhere between 5th and 7th in the points on the Tech3. That's most likely about where he'll finish this year with Ducati. Is anyone going to remember/care about who finished 6th in the points in 2013?

Meanwhile he is on a factory bike making much more money and if he can outperform Rossi's results on the Ducati he'll look great. And there is always the chance Ducati will make a bike that on certain tracks will give the factory Yamaha's a run for their money. Being at Tech3 Dovi would always be a step behind the factory bikes and would never beat JLo on the same equipment. Staying at Tech3 for the short term gratification of a few more podium finishes would have been stupid.

The easiest way to check what time it is is just to log onto advrider.com, make a post (preferably in the motogp race thread) then after you submit your post, look at your post and check the time at when your post was posted. It's not exact but pretty close if you are quick with your computer.

Unfortunately, this does sum it up really well. But you know what? I still watched it all. Practice, Q, and every lap of the race. And enjoyed it all. Beats the shit out of an off-weekend.

Hey, why did Pedrosa deliberately avoid Lorenzo's draft on the front straight? He did it the entire race, or at least until he got dropped.

So did I, but I didn't get up at 3 am to watch practice.

Looked to me like he was doing that even at the end, and I'd guess it's because of the way the Honda has to be ridden. The Yamaha can get on the gas earlier and take a more sweeping exit, but the Honda has to be stood up and fired out further from the apex. As a result, to compensate for the more abrupt acceleration, the bike has to be steered away from the rumble strip much more strongly.

I was wondering that my self, I figured maybe he knew MM couldn't draft by in a single bike draft but could if he was in Lorenzo's wake as well. That was my uneducated guess.
