Westfest Update. Whiskey, Music and Bikes!!!

So I wanted to let all the local peps know what is happening with Westfest Rally this year in Buena Vista, August 9-11th. Alot of this is in the Rally Thread but with it only 2-2.5 hours from the front range I thought people here might want an update

We have been putting a ton of work into Westfest this year and I think it is going to end up being a great event. The riding is of course amazing, Taylor for the trail guys, Peal/Tin Cup, for the DS folks, and Monarch/Independence for the big bike stuff just to name a few. But mostly I wanted to tell everyone about the events we have going on this year.

Also, before I forget Overland Journal will have some staff writters at Westfest doing a feature story, everyone look pretty

August 9th:
On Friday Night Westfest Sponsor, Deerhammer Distilling Company, (ADV Inmate Lenny) will be offering special VIP tours of the distillery just for ADVers and then drink specials of their legendary whisky with amazing views of the Collegiant Peaks from the patio. This is sure to be a great time hanging out BSing with great deals on one of a kind local whiskey on the patio.

-Free Shuttle
So everyone can safely see the distillery and then also experience any of the other local bars and restaurants in downtown Buena Vista, American Adventure Expeditions will be providing a FREE Shuttle (please tip the driver still) that will run between Arrowhead Point and downtown BV between 3-9pm on Friday. All this is reserved just for Westfest attendees

August 10th. BBQ and LIVE MUSIC:

-BBQ, give-a-aways and prizes from all the sponsors :

The BBQ is included in the Westfest registration fee and acceptable activities include this:

this:

and some of this:

-LIVE MUSIC FROM FULL MOON FLOAT
Local Buena Vista band, Full Moon Float, will be performing on Saturday Night from 8-10pm. Full Moon Float is a true local band that plays amazing Blue Grass and Folk music, perfect for the mountain setting under the Collegiant Peaks at Arrowhead Point Click HERE to listen to some of Full Moon Floats Music.

Also we have a lot of sponsors so far that are donating a ton of great prizes for the saturday night raffle. So far these are the sponsors we have signed up and we should be getting a few more folks that people will love to win FREE stuff from

I think it is going to be a blast and hope a lot of local people can make it.

If you have any questions let me know, good booze, good music and good moto riding. Pretty good way to spend the weekend

Sounds like a great time!!! I'll be sure to go. Can't wait to get some more riding time in on the EXC, seeing some old aquaintances and meeting some new ones mixed in with food and drink. Hey!! Sounds like a party??

Bringing the WR and the new F800GS... I'm working on cloning myself so I can do BOTH rides!! LOL!

Will probably do ST rides on WR and use F8 for transportation around town & to/from the par-tay!

How 'bout you Ben? Gonna do ST or ride the big bike?

We'll see how it plays out, but I doubt I will be riding a whole lot it depends how smooth everything goes, but Saturday will be a short day for sure so I can get back early and start getting the food going. I most likely will bring the WR though and may do a few shorter rides.

How do you like the 800 so far?

I figured you'd be pretty busy...please let me know if I can help. I'm happy to help. Shorter rides are better for me too.

LOVE the 800! I got the '13 factory lowered edition. Handles nice; smooth power, transmission, and motor; when I'm moving it doesn't feel "that big." Got a sergeant seat for normal commuter riding and will probably use the low seat for more off road stuff where I need that extra inch of foot contact.
