What kind of bikes are you thinking about?

Next I suppose you're going to want access to a private dirt track?

You didn't take my bait... guess I should be less obscure.

If you've got something for me to race against, I'll bring the bike pictured above. I have access to a dirt oval track and TT track 40 miles from WF. If there is significant interest in this, we can head over on Sunday (I already have rides planned on Fri and Sat).

The track is also a lot of fun on small dual sports and hooligan bikes, if anyone is interested in this, we'll get some race classes together.

Nice Paul that was be a blast. So whats the standing bet going to be

In the main thread in Rally's someone asked about a moderate bike big route (KTM 950). I was thinking St Elmo-Hancock-Alpine Tunnel-Cumberland-Taylor Pass-into Aspen via Ski Mtn for lunch-then maybe mosquito or Weston and then loop back from Hwy 285. I dont know about Mosquito though any other suggestions for a moderate big bike route

Also for people not following the main thread CJ Designs has sent a bunch of KTM foot peg extensions for the raffle Pretty sweet stuff.

The GR is a blast to ride, but it's not all that competitive on the track. If there's any betting going on, I'll be bringing the KX500.

I tried to change my vacation request so I could make it to WestFest again but no luck. I'll wait until the WF dates are set for next year before I bid for my 2014 vacation time. I'm still riding to Colorado this summer but a couple weeks too early.

It looks like a first rate ADV rally again for this year.

Across from the Salida Hospital take cr175 then 185 (Aspen Ridge), 187, and L on 307 into B.V. Then Cottonwood, Cumberland, Waunita, Black Sage, and Old Monarch Passes as were already mentioned. Including Alpine Tunnel is worthwhile and makes it a pretty full day.

Aspen Ridge

Cumberland Pass

Alpine Tunnel

Waunita

Black Sage

Old Monarch

and from there you can coast the 20 miles into Salida.

So who else is IN??

Awesome riding all over, free shuttles into town, live music, BBQ, great prizes and cool people to BS with all weekend!!

Got the details of the Saturday ride per the previous posts, and see a possible bail out at the west end of Block and Tackle that provides at least 3 options from there, all that can cut off some miles, but still provide some high altitude riding...including the possibility of hitting Taylor Pass.

Can you provide info on where you're thinking of going on Friday?

Thanks.

Friday I'll be hitting some singletrack that I've already done as well as exploring some sections I've never done. I will mainly be in the Pitkin area riding trails like Fossil Ridge. Some of the singletrack in that area is moderate and some is stupid-difficult. Since I haven't ridden many of these trails I don't know what to expect. My route looks like it will be about 145 miles.
