Just finished sweeping the floors and vacuuming, the longer I stay here the lower the pay. If there was any. Just buttoned up the bike with a new voltage RR(rectifier regulator, new to me), adapted some connectors, now stuffing some stuff in the panniers and headed south, still some dry hours left today before a spate of wet days.

The progress at this place is phenomenal, good folks doing good work.

WW, your new roll up door looks good

Powerhouse, you never know in this global economy

TM, I've been fortunate to have a leisurely non schedule, suits me well. Leaves enough room for minor glitches? But really just scratched the surface of these Islands

There's been a lot of this lately

About an event for travelers, or not, that takes place at a posh girls school in southern England. But it's the summer break and it's quiet except for some renovations

And today the attendees are pouring in and filling up the campsites for this

I volunteered and am part of this crowd

Also on board are some vendors getting set up

With the brothers Vince

And the better half

Some unfinished projects

And that Rockydog guy

The campsite was quietly emptyish until 3 when the gates opened

The volunteers got their wristbands

There were all sizes and conditions of us volunteers

Some unfinished projects were underway

It's been a lot of fun mixing, again, with folks from all over the country and beyond, learning about cultures and locales. This place in now stuffed with bikes and campers and kids and movies and food and fires and.....

This has been an easy place to grab first hand info, ask about Myanmar and someone pops up with I was there 2years ago

Or learning about 5 year old technology cause that,s the only camera the supply folks would let him bring here

Seeing old friends reunite

It,s wrapping up today, should be interesting watching the exodus

The marque draw was Austin Vince's sister, Loretta, who fed us volunteers 3 squares a day, big thank you

Saturday the Jolenes played in the sports center, bluegrass

The vendors had their own little BBQ

I wish I could have been there, a diary dates clash, meant I've had to be elsewhere this weekend. The Adventure Travel Film Festival is a great event, so many incredible people with fantastic stories and such a diverse range of workshops, classes, presentations and of course films to see. As well as cool people to hang out with.

You look like you're having a lot of fun.

Got all the swag and memories packed and took a quick loop to see how others were doing and all over the site were these great folks I had chatted with about buying a bike in America, where the closest wine store was, speed limits, road signs, guitar tunings, Bolex cameras, hitching rides on garbage trucks is cool, plus-x film, TAT routes, 9 week trip to Vladivostok, how much big bikes suck, how worthless husbands with hangovers are, how much little bikes suck and we all waved and threw smiles around. So yeah, Tiffany, I really enjoyed the breadth of knowledge available from generous folks out to enjoy a slice of life.

Found a quiet camp site in Wales for a couple of days next to a small brook, no wifi or folks, nice break. Then I remembered the clock was running towards my departure date

And caught another ferry, a few more spots I want to visit

I forgot about this, my rented IPad travel movie. Cause I was going to a travel event I rented a movie to get in the spirit, Oblivion with Tom Cruise, time travel into 2077. Watching this early in the morning the festival started, the best part was when he climbed out of some hole and his Motobike had been stolen, that universal pissed off feeling, even Tom gets the blues

In one shot of the campground, did you all see the VW Westphalia Camper tent? Very cool, reminds me of the fabric dummy tents used in WW2 to convince the Germans the invasion was going to be a Pas de Calais.

Rockydog, I'm for the IOM in the morning, if you make it, I'll have wifi only email at the house, I'll pm you some contact details too. If you can't make it, keep an eye on the manx GP thread in the racing forum. Good Luck!

I asked myself last night how many miles I traveled to help Martin shovel 5 million tons of barley seed. This kind of harvest mania is right in my backyard, fer cryin out loud. But a couple of visa issues are overlapping so I'm counting my days in the Isles; both the card and travel Visas are being depleted and this RR is ending soon. I've had such a blast sharing with ya'll.

But first if you like vintage bikes that still kick some ass check out dmcd's posts in the Isle of Mann. Here's a link

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=909602

I saw another pic of a cherry Manx and roared back to being a kid on a large boat with a pointy end and flat top off the coast of a conflicted country for 9 long months reading a review in Cycle News? Magazine and drooling with a bad case of the I wannas for a big thumper. First thing I did when we pulled into SanFrancisco was get to Santa Cruz to buy a beat up bike like this for $500. I and my buddy on his Maico 400 square did northern California's back roads and dirt lanes. Ahhhh, youth
