Sadly I have to work Friday & Saturday, (the problem of working at a bike shop) which makes it hard to justify the rally fee. May try and zip up sunday just to see the aftermath... lol

If your passing through the Knoxville/ Sevierville area, stop in at Mountain Motorsports, it's right off the 407 exit of I-40 and say Hi!
Just ask for Drew upstairs in the parts dept!
Sadly we're not a BMW dealer, but we have nearly every other line other the sun... lol

Awesome!! What have you had to do to her over that period? Drive shafts, clutch, anything serious? Just asking for peace of mind about mine.

Bob the BMW ('01) just turned 44,000 miles...so, I bought him a fresh tank of Chevron 93 octane.

Your blue and white, is that OE or did you repaint or change tanks?

Due to the old style cam chain tensioners I had to replace the cam chain rails at 130K (see the motor tear down/rebuild here)
Rings needed replaced at about 130k
Two clutches (on due to oil contamination from a failed rear main seal)
and two final drive rebuilds, at 80k, and 140k.

Rebushed the throttle bodies at 135k

Still need to replace the transmission input shaft as the splines are badly worn. I was going to do that this last winter, but the BMW shop I was working at went outta business, which left my funds for parts on hold.

other than that mostly just regular service work

Bike had a hard life before it came into my hands. My father (the PO) rode a lot two up fully loaded and pulling a trailer during its first 100k

It is the original blue and white, and original tank. But, Babe has a leather Bagster tank cover and tankbag that kinda matches the original paint scheme. kinda throws people when they see pics of her
