Look who we found!

So we were milling about The Shop this morning and look who showed up! Charley Boorman was passing through on his way to film in other parts of the state for a show he's hosting, and we got the opportunity to see him for the first time since Long Way Round when they came through The Shop in 2004. We had a a great chat and some good photo ops. Check out the show they're filming for at https://www.facebook.com/ExtremeFrontiersUSA.

Big thanks to Phil from Motoquest for bringing the crew by to say hi!

Charley was nice enough to sign m tank! (I think that made him a bit nervous...)

Going by that group pic it looks like you also found some pretty shaky lookin’ characters hangin’ around there. At least the fourth one from the right & this guy.

He should have been at d2d. The poker run on a big GS qualified as extreme. So did the sleep deprivation, the hot tub, and all the camaraderie.

Charlie heard I was in town and insisted on getting this photo w/me. j/k

Had a nice little visit w/him at Motoquest. He'd just returned from spending the night in a snowcave up on the Ruth Glacier.

He is cool and quite sincere in conversation. Mark H.

That picture is priceless. Have never seen Don in a suit coat, or in that close a proximity to a Harley/Buell! I'll bet the thought bubble is exactly what he was thinking! :)

Not really. He does think it's a bit loud though.
Of course you can't believe everything you see in the movies or on the net? Anything look familiar?

Thanks for posting this Andrew.
As an ADV n00b I didn't know who Boorman was so I googled it after reading this thread.
I figured anybody that you would want to sign your new beemer was worth a google search.
Long story short, I ended up watching LWD on Hulu and now looking forward to seeing the other stuff he has done.
The only part that I didn't like was seeing Ewan get his panties in a wad over the bear in Siberia.
Anybody up for a ride from Magadan to Vladavostok?

Great photos Tom! Looks like the same jacket!

Years ago, I rode both a H-D FLHS and a R100R. I'd deliberately ride the Harley to the shop, just to make Don crazy. He was completely perplexed as to why I would ride "that thing", when I had a perfectly good Beemer at home.:) Good times.
