Alabama diners, Dives, and Drive ins..

Hamburger King @Sike's & Kohn's on Hwy 231.

They are modest with their motto "Might be Bama's best burger". It was good. Have others - sausage & hotdogs, chips. Do serve a breakfast as well. The burger is what I'd go back for.

You guys likely know, but I learned that there has been a location downtown Montgomery for 30 years. Same folks own this one.

Nice covered seating area, bathrooms in the retail area.

Saw that a few days back when I was headed towards Montgomery. Was going to stop in on my way back. Got sidetracked...guess me and the husband will have to give it a try when back up that way..

2x what Brad and Mike said about this spot. Don't know what it is with these Georgia boys and knowing where the good eats are but GaM turned me on to this place while camping at Pine Glen last year. Damn fine BBQ plate and we couldn't eat it all.

I've been past that station for many years, bought gas at the pump one morning recently. Had no clue they served BBQ, I need to pay more attention!

A few miles up 9 near White Plains there is a little place called Big Daddys or something like that, good joint for a decent good sized burger and other southern diner items. Nice people, good ice tea.

Well I know some of you have been eating out in AL over the last few weeks. Post up some info on some of your locations. We aren't eating out much cause we are neck deep in a remodel project.

I stopped in the Sauty Creek Store twice this month. The double bacon cheese burger is great, plus they have comfort food specials daily. Nice little salad bar too. Its in Langston, AL....

Well, yes it does. Its tall enough to need it, a knife can be washed, no need to waste the trees.

Its a tall sucker too, hard to take a whole bite without squeezing it down a bit. The fellow seasons it up and the beef is good quality and juicy, its a tasty burger.

Tried it too, they are open all week. I think they close by 5pm though.

Very nice for a pak in sak gas station store. Wish they had some tables around outside. They sell by the pound also, after the BBQ window closes they have a little fridge with sliced pork and sauce boxes out in the convenience store.
