I did not fall. I was taking a soil sample.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

That's a familiar sight! Although I did not have a camera on last time you did that...

Every time that happens to Kirk on XBL his excuse is "I was taking a stool sample."

Glad you're ok, esp41!

Thanks for the vid on Warloop. Hard to believe it's been over 13 years since my introduction to Warloop on my then new '00 KLR 650 running solo.
Enjoying the memories, keep it coming.

To be fair to esp41 he did in fact have no rear brakes. He did fix them shortly before I got my rear flat.

And yes we both have cameras on leashes in our front pockets.

Day 9- Beaver, OK ~148 miles

Today was a great day. The stage was set last night. After we got into the hotel in Alva, a long thunderstorm passed through, lowering the temps over 20 degrees. It also gave us this sunset:

Sorry for the bad sunset photo- just take my word for it- it looked like the sky was on fire.

Lots' of rain fell, so we got a late start to avoid mud. The roads were wet enough not to dust up to bad, yet dry enough not to be a mudfest.

The landscape starting looking like this:

And the road went from straight to this:

We went from flat plains to cattle country. Beef on the hoof.

Miles and miles of cattle country. Absolutely wide open. Just land. With some occasional herds roaming. Beautiful place to watch the grass grow…

I have to mention the grasshoppers. They were everywhere. Some of them were the size of small birds.

I was riding in front. Which scared the grasshoppers into jumping. And Kirkster, riding in back, tried to catch as many of them as he could with his helmet.

Here I am scouting a new homestead for me and Mrs. ESP41.

Overall, it was a great riding day in a great riding part of the country.

We rolled into Beaver, OK. We hit the local NAPA for some bike maintenance items. The NAPA parts guy mentioned he knows an AVDrider who works down the street. Naturally, we thought we would drop in unannounced. Well, DLooper was no where to be found. I guess he heard we were coming into town. So rather than have some dusty bikers ruin his local reputation- he left town. So we took this picture with his coworker Brett for proof of attendance. Brett says he always sees you in your office checking threads on ADVrider, might be time to live the dream…

Now DLooper is going to be wondering what we “might” have done to his office.

I'm Just Sayin...

Nothing much, we got the idea in the Jo Momma section of the forum.
