Bluetooth questions...

I'm thinking about picking up a bluetooth unit, mostly so I can listen to music.
I have no desire to answer the phone while I'm riding.

I would like to intercom/talk to my friends when we ride together though.

I've heard that you can't link different companies units, in other words, there's no way to link a Sena to a Cardo. Is that true? If so, is there a work around?

When you're riding with a few friends it's doubful everyone is going to have the same companies unit...

Well that blows. Nice to see that they don't stick to a standard...

I actually emailed both SCALA and SENA and asked them if their units would communicate with each other. Both said no and that they had no plans to do so

Figures. Just stupid as not everyone is going to have one or the other. That means no talking to folks on your rides...

Bah, I don't like you folks anyways. Never would want to talk to a bunch of posers while I'm riding.

There are a few issues using just Bluetooth for bike to bike comms, mostly with distance and line of sight. Most comms have someway of tying in a 2 way radio (FRS, GMRS, CB or Ham), which would be a better option, but would also mean everyone you ride with would need a radio (of the same type) as well.
