I've got this marked as a go on my calendar. I'll bring up a truckload
of firewood like last year.

The brochure says it typically closes mid to late September. Foiled again.

I got my springs and creeks mixed up. That one is BLM. I don't remember a gate on that road and it is paved all the way. Probably could use the site whether open or not. The office is in Carson City.

Although, high altitude, there is camping on the road to Highland lakes just west of ebbets pass on Hwy 4. There is also camping at Highland lakes.
I was there this last Sat. It's a beautiful area, great campgrounds by the second lake with fire rings. Will be cold in October, though.

I am going to be in Bridgeport tomorrow checking around. I have done some preliminary stuff on 4 and 108. Every FS campground in the Stanislaus district will be closed by 10/14. So will Kennedy Meadows (store/restaurant), Indian Creek and Turtle Rock.

If you don't mind no water or no toilet, there are campgrounds you can access, let Kiel know.

Lundy, Red, & Blue Lake campgrounds will be closed by the end of Sept. Almost anything on the east side closes by then :(

It's looking more and more like a state CG is going to be the
only real option.

Hey Gary,

Oh Ridge CG by June Lake in Inyo NF is open until Oct 30 and looks to have plenty of sites available. $20 a night. CG is at 7600'. Info here: http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Oh...O&parkId=70565

It even has a semi-reasonable motorcycle policy:
In accordance with standard industry practices, Inyo Recreation will assess an additional $5 vehicle fee for the "second vehicle" in each single family campsite, and on the "third and fourth vehicle" in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered one vehicle, and the third and fourth motorcycle are also considered one vehicle.

I'm wearing my helmet in my tent this year.

I came home with 4 claw marks on either side of my forehead the last year.

MF-er bitchslapped me with both hands through my tent.
