Did you have a back protector in your 'stitch'? I got a Roadcrafter 1 peice and it didn't come with one. Maybe I should look into that!
Scott

I have the standard Aerostich back protector in my Darien and don't think it would help much in a 55mph get off into a pile of rocks. It's pretty much just a velcroed-in piece of nylon covered foam. Looks like they've added some kind of belt to the newer ones to keep them in place better, but still...

Thanks for the Leasons Learned Update

Wow! I always look at places I ride past and think that would be a bad place to get off. Thing is there are few good places for a get off. You never know what going to bite you. Like last Saturday I ride out to Fort Rock to camp out with the Dual Sport guys. Hot long way around to get there and bought beer and ice for the end of ride. Get there and two went down real fine. Then it was time to get out of my hot dirt bike riding gear, the pants with the big zippers! I got these riding short with the little flap in front for drainage, if you get my drift. Well, the flap did not cover what it should have, the zipper bit me and I dang near passed out. Stay calm...FOOOKKKK...up or down ? ? wheres the knife..FOOoooOOOOKKKK...can't see what to do. Don't pass out..stay calm foooookKKKK. OK keep breathing...Dave ? ? ? ......aaawwww Dave said go up. OK go up.FOOOOKKKK aaaaa whew......damm that smarts.
Well, that pecker head is a tough one, did not even draw blood but o so sensitive.
What's next.. ? ? ?

Accident

One of the first two guys that stopped to help me when I crashed, came by to see me today.
Thanks for saving my life, Rex!
Great to see you again.

Did he bring pictures ?

Hope the healing is coming along and you're making progress. Can't imagine how sucky 8 broken ribs are.

I kept thinking I should walk around the corner and see why you were sporting that cool new aluminum 2 wheeler

the other day in your driveway.... I was afraid it was this sort of thing.

Glad you're getting along and at least you have all these fine folks on the internet to entertain and harass you.

By the way, dirt riders almost never fall asleep while bouncing across the desert...but we fall off anyway.

Oregon Sage saw me on my custom "outside walker". My Physical Therapist was showing me how to use it. We walked by Or Sage's house. Neighbors are the last to hear bad news!
