Got through the Tail of the Dragon and it started pouring rain on us. We were soaked and hid in a small restaurant in Robbinsville, NC. Ken Wheeler was to busy to help us out with the tire change that night so we ended up camping at the Simple Life Campground. Cool place, inexpensive option for camping outside of the area.

Simple Life CG:

Changing our front sprockets and tires at Wheelers MC in Robbinsville, NC. Highly recommended for any TAT riders that need anything done before getting on the trail. They opened up their shop tools, lubes, oils, and anything else we needed for the trip.

Nate went with the TKC 80's, I'm rocking D606's

Made it down to Tellico Plains and checked out Tellico MC Outfitters, the owner was a really cool dude, Nate bought some new riding gear and he hooked it up with some quick-drying t-shirts! Right on!

This guys got my dream job. Bike show out front, gear show inside.

Started the TAT late, had a lot of fun running through the first 20 miles of the TAT and ended up camping out with some new friends, Nathan, Michael, Bryan and Jessica...good meeting you guys! Thanks for teaching me to play Texas Hold'em! Nate actually took the pot, hahaha I was the first out.

Starting the TAT:

Our camp:

New friends, feel free to post up whatever videos you guys got!

Day 2 on the TAT

Lot of gravel, we kept wondering where the dirt went? Stopped in Dayton for lunch, Mtn Ribshak, phenomenal food!

Almost through TN finally.

Man TN is a long state! Especially when we are stopping at every swimming hole. We are at Pickwick State Park now and will be headed to MS today.

Art went down in a creek and ruined his IPhone. Rookie mistake. Does anyone know of a Sprint store on our way? We are going to try and stop in Corinth, MS for some camping fuel.

All the roads have been beautiful and we hit more dirt than any of the days yesterday. Camping has been fairly easy and showers are not a problem. We could do some laundry for are nasty clothes.

Dual sport bikes.....

The more I keep reading and looking at dirt riding, the more I seem to think that an old man would really do great out there bouncing around. Since I've never owned even a small dirt bike, I can't understand why I would want to start now? Maybe it's the "bucket list" thing, I really don't know! Anyway, thanks for a nice RR. (I think!)

Stay safe,

Best if you can make it a little before July 4th or after. PM if there are any special needs for the bikes. Small town here but a trip over to Tulsa should be able to find what is not around here.

Stay cool.

You can try putting the iphone in a bag of rice, It will suck the moisture out of it. But if he has been trying to power it on he might have done fried something on the inside. It is best to leave them off then try the rice bag and then wait few days then try to turn it on.

But if he cant get it to work people will still buy broke iphones on ebay, so he should hang on to it to get a little bit of cash back for it.

Also tell him Michael said he should check his oil in his ktm!!!
