Best seat for 990?

I've done a search on seats and don't seem to see any threads about which ones you've all tried all in one thread. Pros and cons of any/all seats you've tried on longer rides. All I know is the stock low seat on the recently purchased 2008 sucks. I've read about the Daylong, Saddlemen, Seat Concepts, and Renazco options and I'm leaning toward the Saddleman but wanted some opinions before I drop another 400 clams. Are the seats on the newer Baja 990's any good?

I'm doing the CDR and western TAT ride in three weeks and, although I do a lot of standing on the pegs, want to make the journey as comfy as possible.

Come on ADV world, help an inmate decide!

I figured the Baja seat would be bad - KTM can't seem to figure out their seats. Thanks for the input.

I've ridden an XCW500 with a seat concepts and was impressed although it was a tad bit too spongy for me but I really liked the contour and fit. May have to include it in the running plus they are less money.

I thought they were a cruiser seat maker...guessed wrong on that one. Thanks for the tip on this one. Their website shot of the 990 with their seat looks really good. Did I read that right? 474 dollars?

A friend of mine didn't like his Renazco either. Sold it.

Just bought an 04 "S" that came with a Bill Mayer saddle. Will most likely end up selling it cause I don't want the wings type seat. Need to figure out what I want next though. I may go Seat Concepts Tall seat. The Mayer is nice but don't think I will like it for lots of dirt work..

I don't find the stock seat to be terrible. OK, Moab-Fallon in 100 + temps sucked but usually I am moving around enough on this bike that the stocker isn't bad.

The KTM gel low seat however....now THAT puppy sucks.

I recently bought a Corbin from an inmate and it's typical Corbin. Starts out hard, ends up hard, but easy to move around on and doesn't pack down over the course of a 500 plus mile day. My only issue with this one is that it's just a little wider in front where it matters and now I REALLY can't touch the ground. Jury's still out on this one.

FWIW

+1 with a Renazco seat. My butt has never felt so happy in a long time .

Great comfort & superb folks to deal with at Renazco Racing.

To be fair on the Renazco, my buddy doesn't like his because the seat foam is broken down and isn't providing the support. He's a big guy and wants stiffer foam. He bought it used so he is sending it back to Renazco for new foam. We'll see how he likes it after it is like new.

I have a Renzaco seat that was on my bike when I bought it, I have just done a couple of thousand mile trip and whilst its ok, its not a patch on the corbin on my R1100GS, its ok for a 300+ mile day but not sure I would be happy with longer than that, where as the 1100 is good for the 500 miles I get out of the TT tank ;-)
My problem is that I dont know if the seat is the best I can expect as its smaller and narrower, is it just that it was not made for me, is the corbin for the 990 going to be better or as good as the 1100 one?

I would be interested in any thoughts from someone who has tried a corbin and a renzaco.

I'm diggin' my Seat Concepts. Use the stock seat pan and do it yourself with a 20$ harbor freight staple gun.

Any thoughts on what seat is best for helping the passenger stay put. When we are on rough trails going down hill the girlfriend has trouble sliding forward. Anything with a small lip between the passenger and rider?
