Help with Route across Mass.

I was trying to put together a route across New England and realized most of my Routes in Mass run East-West. I'm sure you all know of some great routes from Northern CT, east or west, to New Hampshire. Please post them here for all to see. Thanks.

Where in CT? 7 from Danbury north is not a bad ride, then hit the smaller roads through Berkshires, end up on Mohawk trail, bail off at Greenfield, shoot north to 63 to Northfield, 10 to Winchester, NH and 119 to rte 12 - you are in Monadnock Region then.

Or, once you hit 2, suffer through 2A until 32, then hit that to 119.

If you are on an unpaved quest, there are limited options.

I can plot my CT route. Just looking for some interesting roads from Otis or Sturbridge area to the NH line.

Lots of interesting mostly dirt routes from Otis up toward VT line near I-91. Further east more into NH, that I don't know about.

I fergit where in CT the OP is coming from, but it is easy to start further east in Otis than the TMT. Southern end of TMT swings well west of Rte. 8 in Sandisfield; easy enough to start MA farther east in Tolland (MA) or Granville (MA).

maybe I didn't explain myself. just wanted to ride back roads or county roads. I wasn't looking for dirt roads or trails on this ride. but some of your suggestions I will definitely try at a later time.

If you are looking for a somewhat direct and simple route South to North through central Mass you could take Rt19 out of Stafford Ct to the end and take 9 west to 32 North to 32A North and then back onto Rt32 into NH or at the end of 32A take 122 north to Rt 2A west to 78 north into NH (78 is great road)

From Otis, MA: Route 8 N to Route 20 E, turn onto 112 N in Huntington and follow that until it connects with Rt 100 in Vermont, follow that to VT 9 and head east to NH.

All of that's paved. I typically avoid Rt2/Mohawk trail because compared to the other numbered roads in the area, it's kind of crowded and dull.

A lot of cruisers use it. Don't know why they pick a road with curves, and then creep around them afraid to lean. Tend to be several motorcycle-off-the-road accidents up there every summer. I ride dualsports with dualsport tires so am not dragging the pegs, but one of my greatest displeasures when riding roads is to come up on a pack of cruisers.

Caught up with some Victories on Sunday, getting close to the Hairpin Turn, but we were stopping for lunch there anyway so just followed them for a short while.

Stuck behind a pack of cruiser going under the limit and when you pass them they act like you talked about their momma.
