We will miss the presence of having one of the most generous people I have ever know living nearby. His enthusiasm for all things was infectious and his excitement over anyone getting out and riding was unequaled. Every time I headed out the road on my bike, he wanting to know where I was going. When I returned, he need to know where I had ridden. Often he would text my brother or me to see if we were going for the tag. Last night while getting the tag and then returning past his house, I rode with a sadness in my heart, yet it was lightened by the knowledge that I am a better man from having had the opportunity to have known him. Tom may you rest in peace

Night tagging with amadvikingjr

It is with distinct sadness that I note the passing a friend. Tom had a special eagerness and was a pleasure to be around. He was a great neighbor, always willing to lend a hand. He thoroughly enjoyed his motorcycles and all things mechanical.

I do not think I will ever be able to ride past his house without feeling the loss of a friend.

Very sad, i didn't know him but sad none the less.

I found out that my new BIL's stepfather passed away this past week. He and his wife spent Christmas Day at our house and it was the first time I met him and the last. He was a pleasurable guy and it kinda screwed me up all week thinking about it.

Sorry for the loss of your friend guys, sucks!

He continues to ride around the country....

I first "met" the mad viking in 2009, when I went, in the dark of night to "get" the North America TOR tag at the N.J. Vietnam Veteran's Memorial:

Was one of his 1st posts on ADV.

Since then, the Viking's egg (I'm not sure if he was the originator, but was the first "signer") has traveled all over North America, keeping hundreds of riders interested and riding around to obscure places. The viking lives on in a lot of our minds in addition to his family and friends.

NOTE: the tag is, at the moment, in a very cool place in Alabama...

Sorry for your loss, Haystack. May the mad viking RIP.
