Mounting an Etrex 30 on a thumper problems

I mounted my Etrex 30 on the handle bars of my Gas Gas 450 using the cycle style handle bar mount. It fitted in the middle (centre) perfectly and should enable me to navigate programmed routes easily enough by grabbing glances at the compass screen

But

On today's ride it kept turning off :-(

I'm guessing this is the vibration from the engine causing the problem. I haven't experienced this when I've used the device mountain biking

Here is an example of the mountain biking it deals with ok

Any ideas on ways to mount it to reduce the vibration from the bars but still have it easy to operate and view

Just had a thought while typing this- I wonder if mounting it in a bar lad would work? Hmmmmmmmmm

Search is your friend. Lots of threads on these kinds of units and options.

Some foam installed behind the battery contacts usually solves the problem. Vibrations cause the power to be lost momentarily.
