I won't mention which transalp rider led me into there one day, it wasn't after rain, no it was while it was effing pissing down. First time I'd dropped the 690, as a well known ex Strom rider can vouch for, when I picked it up it was like a uncoordinated ballerina ice skating on 2 feet down a slope trying to stand the thing up. .
Hell of a lot of fun, a helthorpe a lot of fun.

Its not a place for a beginner on their own though.

Nothin wrong with the 690 as an enduro bike, it just doesn't cut it as a long distance adventure bike.

Someone has done a mtb map - but may not all be suitable to a dirt bike ?

I was planning on going through there tomorrow as part of a overnigter but looks like weather is yet again screwing with the plans.

Did I hear someone mention a Hellthorpe ride ?

I lost something very dear to me last time I was there so it would be good to go back and try to find it.

It was three quarters the way up the last hill, so if anyone finds a 'will to live' it's mine.

I'm in

Hehe, you all make it sound like death on a dirtbike :)

Might leave it till one day when it's bone dry for a first run there. With the snail trail this week end and strummers ride next week end, I think I will have had my fill.

Cheers lads
