Laugh Black Hills: September 20th 2013

2nd annual-ish Black Hills Ride
Weekend of September 20th

I don't know ALL the trails but I know enough to keep busy, tired & sore for a weekend +.

Anyone that is thinking about it MAPS

Anyone that is thinking about it all of those maps above in Garmin GPS format
There is also a Google Earth KML to download

We will be camping at the same location as last year
The added benefit this year is the DDSR rally will be taking
place the same weekend and I think they have elected to
HQ at Nemo just over the hill from the house, should be plenty
of riders to BS with and even more FUN!

I'm in. I'll be more flexible on which days I'll be there, either Thursday through Sunday or Friday through Monday.
Maybe I'll bring two bikes this year. Really looking forward to this.

Last year was so stinking hot. I was riding in my t-shirt. I hope this year I can wear some armor. Besides aren't we going to have heat and 4 walls at our campsite again?

Well not new...new to me. I bought an '05 CRF450X with a MN title and license plate. It needed a transmission repair, so it is torn down right now. Parts are on order, and at this point I'm thinking I'll have it assembled and running in August.

That's exciting! Hope you get it in working order for the ride!
I'm saving my pennies so i can move up into something more suitable to my riding skills. I'm not gonna lie, I haven't gotten any better, but I think we can blame the bike for most of my wipe outs and tears.

Can't wait to get together with you all again! Hopefully the weather is just as perfect as it was last year. I'm getting a few ideas for some neat quilts to knit... I look forward to eating M&M's and chatting with you folk.

Question Tshirts, stickers....?

Should I get some stickers together again? I'm definitely going with a better quality type of sticker.

Also, as much fun as i had with the Shindig t-shirt, i was gonna get prices on a shirt for this ride too. Anyone be interested in owning one?

Any input on graphics to use? I thought I'd just use almost the same sticker like last year. Any clever sayings? (Toadl- this question is mostly directed to you because you're so witty)

Let me know what you kids think.

Over on DDSR I was told there was a sticker at some point in the shape of the state. Is this what was made last year? I was asking about them and of people would be interested n some being made. I have a buddy who is a graphic designer who would design something complicated for us if we give him some ideas. Also I can usually get a decent military discount on things. Just offering to help not trying to step on your toes. Is there any examples online I can look at?

Les.

Thanks! I haven't seen that one... but no, that's not what we used. I just threw a quick deal together last year and printed it at my work (poor quality).

This is what it looked like:

I am actually a designer myself... but I'm not opposed to your or friends help... not to mention the possibility of a discount haha...
(thanks for your service)

I just shot an email to a local screen printing place about cost of a shirt with a 2 color design idea and sticker similar to the above. I wasn't getting real serious about the shirt until I get a relative idea on cost. Stickers are a MUST.

I have a little bit of an idea for the shirt... I'll work on something this weekend. All I do know for sure is that is has to be bada$$, because that's what describes this group of riders
