Only 7000 Kay's mate.

It's back to the dealer at least 4 times. All minor stuff but annoying none the less.

What Fuel

Gday Guys

I wanted to ask you if any of you use 98 Ron fuel, like BP, or do you just use the recommended 95 Ron..THanks for your input..

It runs just fine on 95 which is the recommended fuel by KTM, so why spend more for 98 ?

My main gripe with my non-R 1190 Adventure EDS has become the battery and its incapability of getting teh bike started after spending 8 hours or more in around 6C...

Has happened to me twice now.
Once when trying to get home after work (bike had been outside during the day at 4C) and a second time yesterday when trying to leave from home. The bike had spent twe days in my basement at 6-8C after having been ridden for about 150km.
It sucks.
My dealer informed me that KTM is aware of the issue and is frantically looking for a solution.

I noticed mine can need a lengthy start to get it going when cold.. It sounds likes its the battery that doesnt have enough CCA. I might upgrade the battery to a Gel or dry one with more kick in it.

Has your firmware been updated? KTM called me in a wee while ago to do a few warranty jobs. Firmware was updated for cold weather starting...

Laugh Horn

What annoys me about my 1190R is ... I have only covered just over 2,000 km's on it and the first time I took it off road I kept hearing a tapping noise. I thought it was a padlock I had in the little storage compartment on the fairing. It ended up being the horn, it had rattled the nut off and was hanging by the wires. I only went about 15km's off road but it was pretty corrugated. (More off road when I change the tyres.)
Only a minor issue and easily fixed with a nyloc nut but even so a little bit annoying. Other than that bloody awesome.

Like you said, they are aware...even more so because a major german motorcycle magazine has put its finger in that wound during their long term test of the 1190. To resume their statement : as much as journalists were fighting to ride the bike in summer, as much they are avoiding the bike now that temperatures went down as the chief mechanic needed 42 minutes, starter cables and the battery of his private Harley to get the 1190 running.

What surprises me here : how comes nobody noticed last spring when temperatures were equally low ?

would you buy a 2013 demo 1190 adventure S?

My local dealer has a 2013 1190 adventure S that is a few $k cheaper than the 2014. Would you buy a 2013 that has this "air box" problem or would you spend the extra $$ & buy the 2014 model?

thanks!
